Dear registered Construction Project Manager
THE NATURE AND EXTENT OF VALUE MANAGEMENT IN THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY
The Department of Construction Economics and Management at the
University of Cape Town has embarked on a project to establish the
nature and extent of value management in the construction industry - as
practised by built environment professionals (eg. PrCPM; PrCM; PrArch;
PrEng, PrQS, etc. - i.e. persons registered with the appropriate
statutory council). One of the first phases of the project is to examine
value management practice amongst registered construction project
managers.
The opinions of registered project managers are very important, and we
would really you to participate in this survey so that your views can be
incorporated.
The opinion survey deals with issues such as: demographic information
(to provide a contextual background); familiarity with value management;
use of value management; and the nature of the use of value management.
The questions are topical and relevant to construction project managers.
To faciliate the easy capture of data we are using a web-based survey.
To this end would you please use the URL below to go to the website to
complete the questionare online. Please call 021 - 650 3443 if you have
any queries.

The aggregated results of the survey will be made public once they are
analysed, but the responses of individual professionals will remain
anonymous.
Could we possibly have the results by Friday 1st August 2008, please?
Thank you.
