Dear Member of SAICE

 

As you are aware there is no active SAICE committee in your region and
SAICE National Office has taken upon itself the task to service the
members in your area. We can assist with keeping you up to date with
what is happening etc, but we need your assistance now.

 

Do you know any Members that you feel could be nominated as a Fellow of
the Institution? Do you think as a Member, you should be a Fellow of the
Institution? If you think either one of the two apply to you, please
contact me to forward you the application form. Please ensure that it
reached National Office not later than 31 July 2008.

 


EXTRACTS FROM THE CONSTITUTION


 

Fellows at the time of election shall:

-           have been a Corporate member for at least two years,
provided that the Council shall have power in exceptional circumstances
to waive this requirement;

-           be not less than thirty-six years of age;

-           be actively engaged in civil engineering;

-           have been actively engaged in civil engineering for not less
than fifteen years;

-                      have held for not less than five years a position
of responsibility which in the opinion of the Council justifies his
election; and,

-           either hold a degree or other tertiary qualification in
engineering recognized for the purpose by the Council, or

-           be a corporate member of an engineering institution or
society recognized for the purpose by the Council.
