Dear SAICE members
Please refer to the reminder below that we sent you on 17 March 2008.
Sarie (editor) informed me that she has not received sufficient material
yet to make up the July magazine, which will be featuring Construction
and Project Management. She has now extended the deadline for
contributions to Friday 30 May 2008 to give you extra time to submit
material.
We really understand that everybody is very busy, but we are
nevertheless urging you to please share your interesting projects with
the SAICE readers. The magazine offers such a wonderful opportunity to
let the world see what you are busy with! Your contributions should be
sent directly to Sarie - see email below for all the relevant details.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Kind regards
Verelene de Koker

Dear SAICE members
The main features in the July 2008 issue of SAICE's magazine, Civil
Engineering, will be Construction and Project Management. We would love
to publish material on some of the many interesting projects that our
members country-wide are involved in, and of course also anything
interesting and relevant on Project Management.
In addition, the Northern Cape and Highveld regions will also be
featured in the July issue, which offers the Kimberley, Upington and
Highveld Branches an ideal opportunity to showcase interesting civil
engineering projects in your area and/or happenings in your Branch.
Furthermore, we also feature articles in the other official languages of
our country, i.e. other than English, and these languages are rotated as
sub-title on the cover. Should one of these languages happen to be your
mother tongue, you are most welcome to send us articles in that
language, together with a synopsis in English of approximately 25% of
the length of the article. These articles need not necessarily be
technical - they could have a history-and-heritage flavour (e.g. how
things were when you were a child and how civil engineering has changed
that), or why you chose civil engineering as a career, or anything
interesting and relevant to the civil engineering environment that you
would like to share with readers in your mother tongue. The July
magazine will be featuring AFRIKAANS.
Our magazine reaches around 8 000 readers, so do not miss this
opportunity! The deadline for your contributions is Thursday 15 May
2008. Attached please find a rough template that you may use as a guide
when preparing articles, should you have a need for that. We also attach
a features list for your information.
Please do NOT send your articles to Memory Scheepers or to me, but
DIRECTLY to our editor Sarie Moolman (contact details below). Also
liaise directly with Sarie should you need additional information or
specific advice.
We would also appreciate it if you could provide our advertising agent,
Barbara Spence, with relevant leads if at all possible (contact details
below).
Looking forward to receiving your contributions!
Kind SAICE regards
