TEACHER in-service Programme - we are looking for contributions and
volunteers to assist - PLEASE rally and mobilize?
Do YOU remember the influence Maths and Science teachers and other role
players have had in putting YOU on the engineering path?
Good day SAICE members
Please have a look at the enclosed material about this very valuable
initiative that Nico Beute of CPUT and an enthusiastic team of teaching
professionals and engineering professionals have been driving. SAICE has
provided limited input and advice but since this programme is now moving
towards implementation, they urgently need VOLUNTEERS to become the
feet, hands and mouths for this exciting venture.
They have developed very interesting material including handbooks and
guidelines that will be used to assist participants and SAICE members
can play an important role to facilitate, since our members can access
schools across the country.
PS In the past month the SAICE Office bearers and staff team already met
with the Ministers of Science and Technology, Basic Education as well as
Higher Education to discuss maths, career guidance and a host of other
issues. We were received very well and have been invited to submit
further requests and to engage with the departments and several
initiatives are currently under way
Please contact Nico directly on beuten at cput.ac.za and cc me as well
please?
THANKS & Regards
Eng David Botha Pr Eng
