SAICE Executive Director retired on 31 March 2010

 

The SAICE Executive Director Dawie Botha indicated 2 years ago that he
would like to retire from the full time position he has occupied since
1991. He however also indicated that he would like to remain involved
with SAICE on a part-time basis. The Executive Board has granted this
request early in 2009 and proceeded to advertise the position of CEO.
Unfortunately an appointment could not be made as envisaged then, but a
renewed effort has just started by readvertising the position.

 

In the mean time Mr Phiroshaw Camay was appointed as acting CEO for a
contract period of approximately 6 months, concentrating on varios tasks
but primarily focussing on administration and developing and
implementing the new SAICE strategic plan.

 

Dawie was appointed on a 3 day per week 12 month contract basis for the
period up to 31 March 2011 to assist with Outreach and Communication as
well as induction of the new CEO.

 

The executive board will keep the membership informed about the process
and appointment of the new CEO. Members are requested to assist and
facilitate the change by directing their correspondence and equiries to
