and practical applications of free surface flow. Aspects that will be
covered range from the basic theory of flood calculations, free surface flow,
mass, energy and momentum conservation as well as the use of the popular
software packages UPD & HEC-RAS. The HEC-RAS Software will be
demonstrated in performing one-dimensional hydraulic calculations such as
steady and unsteady flow simulations and dam break analysis. A number of
practical sessions have been included utilizing the software programs to
acquaint participants with the application of the knowledge. A preliminary
program is attached. Delegates should bring their own notebooks.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
