TO ALL JOINT CIVIL DIVISION MEMBERS
Please note that after extensive deliberation and consultation, the
SAICE Executive Board resolved to discontinue the co-operation with ICE
in the current format in the form of a SAICE Division.
This means that the Joint Civil Division will be disbanded in May 2010
and replaced with a sub committee under the new restructured SAICE
International Panel and recommended that it be named the SAICE-ICE Joint
Committee.
This panel will provide an integrated governance system for SAICE
International relations dealing with ICE, ASCE, WFEO, AEF, RAE, UNESCO,
EAP as well as
ReDR (if their request to be incorporated into SAICE is accepted by the
Executive Board).
It is important to note that the current activities and ring fenced
funding arrangements will not at all be affected by the new
dispensation.
In terms of the SAICE invoice for 2010, please note that subscriptions
are due on
1 January of every year and therefore The Joint Civil Division
subscriptions remain valid as sent out, since the unit will only cease
to exist in May 2010.
Regards,
Eng David Botha Pr Eng
SAICE Executive Director
