HOW STRESSED AT WORK ARE YOU?
STRESS EXPERIENCED BY PROFESSIONAL CIVIL ENGINEERS IN THE SA CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY
Dear Colleague
How stressed are YOU working in the construction industry? What causes this stress and how is it alleviated?
To try and answer these questions, the Department of Construction Economics and Management, in conjunction with the Department of Psychology at the University of Cape Town, have embarked on a project to establish the nature and extent of stress within the SA construction industry - as experienced by professional people such as yourself.
The opinion survey deals with issues such as: contextual demographic data; perceptions of job task demands; job control; organisational stressors; support at work; harassment and discrimination; substance use; effects of stress; and the overall perceived levels of stress experienced in the work place.
The questions are topical and relevant to all who are concerned about the well being of people in our industry.
Please record your views by linking to the questionnaire located at the following website. This survey is entirely web-based and the results are captured and processed electronically. The questionnaire can be found at the following URL.
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/CEM-stress
Please call 021 – 650 3445 if you have any queries.
Kindly complete the survey by Friday 22nd October 2010 if at all possible.
Thank you for taking the time and effort to participate in this survey. Individual responses will remain anonymous, as the results will be published in aggregate form only.
