Introduction

As the environment becomes more competitive and project work more
complex, the need exists more than ever for individuals to 

build trust based partnerships with clients as the competitive
advantage, assuming accountability for their role in earning and 

developing trust on an interpersonal level. 

 

For engineers, this implies that core technical skills are not enough:
these skills need to be supplemented with the personal impact, 

partnering and consulting skills to earn credibility from a demanding
client base in an evolving profession.

proactive player in your career

*           Perception is reality- manage the way others see you

*           Identify your personal strengths as use these to define your
personal brand

*           Make sure your visual image reflects your professionalism

detract from your professionalism

*           Understand your personal influencing and communication style

*           "It's not what you say but how you say it"- use positive
language to position yourself as a can do professional

and age dimensions

solutions

*           Resolving challenges, concerns and complaints- build a
